Driven: The Edwardian Cyborg Wheelchair

Why should mobility not inspire desire?

Driven (2009, refurbished 2013) is the first of A. Laura Brody’s Opulent Mobility series, devoted to re-imagining mobility. Driven began as an electric wheelchair donated by a chair-using friend and a dream of re-making wheelchairs as thrones.

Base: a Nutron R51 electric wheelchair
Upholstery: recycled sofa, donated draperies, plywood, couch cushions and leather jackets
Decor: Salvaged hardware and sewing accessories, including engine ball bearings, vent filters, antique pulleys, springs, washers, zipper teeth, tacks and snap tape.

Driven was published in 1000 Steampunk Creations by Dr. Grymm.

$6500. Please inquire about creating your own customized mobility device.
